Update: It’s been announced that the Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a Baby boy.
The UK government has changed the 300-year-old laws on royal succession to ensure that a first born daughter can become monarch, even if she has younger brothers. So if the new royal is a female, what management challenges might she face when she eventually becomes queen? Do women think and behave differently than men when making ethical decisions? Although the number of women holding top executive positions is still woefully small, the number of women in professional and managerial roles has more than doubled (to approximately 21 million) during the past two decades. Are women really the exemplars of good decisions and good deeds that we (and they) believe they are when they occupy leadership positions?
