Senior Vice President and Science Advisor of Aubrey Daniels Institute to receive award for outstanding contributions to behavior analysis

Atlanta, GA: (January 2015) Dr. Andy Lattal, senior vice president and science advisor of the Aubrey Daniels Institute, curator of the Behavioral Apparatus Virtual Museum, and Centennial Professor at West Virginia University, will accept an award presented by the California Association for Behavior Analysis for his Outstanding Contributions to Behavior Analysis at their annual conference next month. The award recognizes Lattal for his work and leading research in the field.

“There is no one more deserving than Andy Lattal, to receive an award such as this that recognizes the significant contributions he has made in our field,” states Aubrey Daniels, founder of Aubrey Daniels International and the Aubrey Daniels Institute.

For the past forty-five years, Dr. Lattal has written articles, conducted research, and authored more than 150 research articles and chapters on conceptual, experimental, and applied topics in behavior analysis and the psychology of learning. He has also edited seven books and journal special issues.

To add to his accomplishments, Dr. Lattal has also served as president of the Association for Behavior Analysis International, the Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis, the American Psychological Association’s Division for Behavior Analysis, the Society for the Experimental Analysis of Behavior and the Southeastern Association for Behavior Analysis.

In addition to serving in the above capacity, Dr. Lattal is editor for English language submissions of the Mexican Journal of Behavior Analysis, and former editor of the field’s flagship journal, the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior. He has served on the editorial boards of eight professional journals and is a past recipient of the Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis Distinguished Contributions to Behavior Analysis Award.

“We are so fortunate to have Andy working with us at the Aubrey Daniels Institute,” states Aubrey Daniels. “This statement is just a sampling of the powerful work Andy has done to extend behavior analysis outside of the academic community.  Andy’s commentaries for the Aubrey Daniels Institute are so effectively bringing the science into a whole new light and attracting so many in business.”

Dr. Lattal will accept the award at the CalABA Western Regional Conference at the Town & Country in San Diego, on February 15, 2015.

The Aubrey Daniels Institute is a depository of information, research, examples, and resources gathered together to support the powerful application of applied behavior analysis. It is intended to elevate and share with others what has been taught and can be learned from the science. It is Aubrey’s hope that this Institute will be a place for discussion and discovery, for sharing research, and exploring topics that are critical to his vision of changing the way the world works.
