In Episode 16, ADI's Ashley Duhon explains the latest pearl, "Say what you mean and DO what you say."
Transcript: We've all heard the phrase, "Say what you mean and mean what you say." Aubrey has a twist on that saying. "Say what you mean and DO what you say." Why this change? It comes down to trust. Think of the person you trust the most in this world. Why do you trust them? Undoubtedly they say what they mean. They're honest in what they say but just as importantly they have demonstrated what's called say/do correspondence. In other words what they do matches what they say. This is important because as another famous saying goes, actions speak louder than words. When you can be counted on to say what you truly mean and then act upon those statements accordingly you build trust, better relationships, and ultimately become better able to positively influence behavior.
