Tom Spencer joined Aubrey Daniels International in 2000, initially serving as Director of Strategy Integration and Chief Operating Officer. In these roles, Tom consolidated internal initiatives and product offerings, directed new product development, developed and standardized internal processes, worked with business unit leaders to grow their lines of business while providing exemplary customer service, and partnered with the marketing department to showcase ADI’s unique expertise in the marketplace.
Prior to joining ADI, Tom served as the Chief Learning Officer of KeepSmart (now SmartPros) and in various leadership positions in behavioral consulting companies. Tom was actively involved in strategy design, infrastructure and workforce development, the evaluation of partnership and merger opportunities, and the management of daily operations.
For nearly 25 years, Tom has provided consulting services in areas such as instructional and performance systems (e.g., performance measurement, feedback, evaluation, and reward systems), behavioral process design and improvement, leadership development, and strategy integration and implementation. Tom’s approach to consulting is pragmatic and grounded in the science of behavior, creating positive change in management practices, organizational systems, and critical business results.
Tom earned a doctorate in psychology (behavior analysis) from West Virginia University and a master’s degree in applied behavior analysis from Northeastern University. He also was trained as a Lead Auditor for ISO 9000 by the British Standards Institute. Tom has published articles and blog posts on leadership, consequence management, performance fluency, and technology development.
